Barcelona is a city that can be discovered through its streets, façades and, also, its shutters. Behind many shops and car parks lie authentic works of street art that sometimes go unnoticed by those who walk past them every day. The photographic exhibition Street Art & People BCN, by photographer Manel Antolí, invites visitors to stop and observe these little urban treasures from a different perspective.
The exhibition can be visited until 15 November 2026 at the Centre Cívic Tomasa Cuevas, located in the Les Corts neighbourhood. It offers a visual journey through different corners of Barcelona through a personal photographic essay combining graffiti, urban photography and scenes of everyday life.

Barcelona's shutters as canvases for street art
Manel Antolí's project focuses on a very characteristic feature of the urban landscape: the metal shutters of bars, restaurants, shops, car parks and other establishments. When businesses close for the day, these surfaces become authentic canvases where street artists leave their mark through colours, characters, illustrations and all kinds of compositions.
Through his photographs, Antolí captures some of these examples of street art in Barcelona, showing how street art transforms everyday spaces into small open-air galleries. From an antique shop to a churro shop, including commercial establishments and car parks, each shutter tells a story and adds character to the city's streets.

However, what makes this exhibition particularly interesting is the way the photographer incorporates anonymous people into his images. Pedestrians walking past a shutter, workers crossing the scene or local residents simply going about their daily routines unknowingly become part of the composition.
The result is a collection of photographs filled with visual contrasts, colour connections and unexpected situations. In these images, street art and everyday life come together, creating scenes that would probably go unnoticed without the photographer's attentive eye.

A different perspective on the streets of Barcelona
The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on how art is part of our surroundings, even in places where we would not expect to find it. You don't need to enter a gallery or visit a museum to enjoy street art: all it takes is a walk around Barcelona and a little attention to what's happening around you.
Alongside the photographic exhibition, Street Art & People BCN includes guided tours and an audiovisual presentation, offering visitors the opportunity to explore Manel Antolí's work and the creative process behind this photographic essay in greater depth.
An interesting experience for photography, graffiti and urban culture enthusiasts, but also for anyone looking to rediscover Barcelona from a different perspective.
